If you’re thinking about joining one of my retreats, you might already have a few questions running through your mind.
What if I cry?
What if people judge me?
What if everyone else knows each other?
What if I’m the only one who feels anxious?
What if I don’t fit in?
What if I don’t want to share?
If any of those thoughts sound familiar, I want you to know something…
You’re not the only one.
In fact, almost everyone who comes on one of my retreats has wondered at least one of those things before they arrive.
Stepping into something new can feel daunting, especially if you’ve spent years putting everyone else first, worrying about what people think or feeling like you have to keep it all together.
That’s why creating a place where you feel safe isn’t just one part of my retreats…
It is the foundation of everything I do.
Because when you feel safe, everything else becomes possible.
1. You don’t have to pretend
You don’t have to arrive as the happiest, funniest or most confident person in the room.
You don’t need to wear a mask or keep everyone else comfortable.
You can simply come as you are.
2. You can share as much or as little as you want
One of the biggest worries people have is that they’ll be expected to talk about things they’re not ready to share.
That won’t happen.
You are always in control of what you share.
Sometimes listening is just as powerful as talking.
3. You realise you’re not the only one
One of the most beautiful moments on every retreat is when people realise they’re not alone.
The worries they’ve carried for years…
The self-doubt…
The fear of not being enough…
Others understand those feelings too.
4. You can finally let your shoulders drop
So many people spend their lives looking after everyone else.
Holding everything together.
Being the strong one.
My retreats are an opportunity to put some of that weight down.
To breathe.
To rest.
To simply be.
5. You begin to trust yourself again
When you stop worrying about being judged, you start listening to yourself instead.
You begin to notice what you need, what you feel and what really matters to you.
6. Real connections happen naturally
Nobody is expected to fit in.
Nobody has to perform.
When people feel safe, friendships often grow naturally because everyone is accepted for who they are.
7. Feeling safe gives you permission to grow
Growth doesn’t happen because you’re pushed.
It happens because you feel supported enough to take the next step.
Sometimes that next step is speaking.
Sometimes it’s resting.
Sometimes it’s simply realising you don’t have to carry everything on your own anymore.
Why this matters so much to me
If there’s one thing I hope people take away from my retreats, it’s this…
I want you to feel safe.
Safe to laugh.
Safe to cry.
Safe to sit quietly if that’s what you need.
Safe to be yourself without worrying about getting it right.
Because I’ve found that when people feel truly safe, they begin to relax. They start connecting with themselves and with others in ways they perhaps haven’t experienced for a very long time.
And that’s often where the most meaningful changes begin.
So if you’re wondering whether you’ll fit in, whether you’ll be accepted or whether you’ll feel comfortable, I hope this reassures you.
You don’t have to arrive as anyone other than yourself.
That’s more than enough.
If you're thinking about coming on one of my retreats, you don't need to arrive as the best version of yourself.
You don't need to be confident.
You don't need to have your life sorted.
You don't even need to know exactly what you're looking for.
You simply need to arrive as you
